Awards & Commendations

 

The Medal of Honor is awarded by the President, in the name of Congress, to a person who, while a member of the Army, distinguishes himself or herself conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his or her life above and beyond the call of duty while engaged in action against an enemy of the United States; The deed performed must have been one of personal bravery or self-sacrifice so conspicuous as to clearly distinguish the individual above his or her comrades and must have involved risk of life. Incontestable proof of the performance of the service will be exacted and each recommendation for the award of this decoration will be considered on the standard of extraordinary merit.

 

Out of respect for the heroism and sacrifice of real recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor, this award is not, under any circumstances, authorized or awarded to any member of the 101st Airborne Division Realism Unit.

 

 

This is the Highest Award one can reveive in the 101st Airborne Division Tactical Reaslism Unit. The Brotherhood Medal is awarded for a persons dedication to not only his or her unit, put the people themselves in which they have gone above and beyond their call of duty in service for.

 



The Distinguished Service Cross is reserved to commend the real-life actions of a member. The act or acts of heroism must have been so notable and have involved risk of life so extraordinary as to set the individual apart from his or her peers and must be awarded for a provable heroic real-life incident, typically one while serving in the real Armed Forces.



The Defense Distinguished Service Medal is awarded to Commissioned Officers of the 101st Airborne Division who have rendered distinguished meritorious service in a position of enormous responsibility. This award serves to recognize exceptionally distinguished service, and to honor an Officer's accomplishments over a sustained period of six or more months.


The Distinguished Service Medal is awarded to any member who, while serving in any capacity with the 101st Airborne Division, has distinguished himself or herself by exceptionally meritorious service to the unit in a duty of great responsibility, going above and beyond the normal duties of the awardee's designated post.



The Silver Star is awarded for gallantry in action during a combat situation while serving in the 101st Airborne Division Realism Unit. This is the highest honor for in-game actions of an 101st Airborne Division Paratrooper and is awarded only in situations of extreme gallantry and heroism by the awardee.




The Defense Distinguished Service Medal is awarded to Non-Commissioned Officers of the 101st Airborne Division who have rendered distinguished meritorious service in a position of enormous responsibility. This award serves to recognize exceptionally distinguished service, and to honor an NCO's accomplishments over a sustained period of six or more months.



The Legion of Merit is awarded to all members of the Armed Forces of the United States without reference to degree for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services and achievements. This award, as it is typically awarded to Senior Field Grade Officers and General Officers, is not currently awarded by the 101st Airborne Division Realism Unit.




The Distinguished Flying Cross is awarded to any member who, while serving in any capacity with the 101st Airborne Division Realism Unit, distinguishes himself by heroism or extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight; heroism that goes above and beyond the normal scope of duties and voluntary risk of personal safety.




The Soldier’s Medal is awarded to any person of the Armed Forces of the United States, or of a friendly foreign nation who while serving in any capacity with the 101st Airborne Division, distinguished himself by heroism not involving actual conflict with an enemy.




The Bronze Star Medal is awarded to any member who distinguished himself or herself by heroic or meritorious achievement or service, not involving participation in aerial flight, while engaged in an action against an enemy of the United States; Awards may also be made to recognize single acts of merit or meritorious service.


 

The Purple Heart is awarded in the name of the President of the United States to any member of an Armed Force who, while serving with the U.S. Armed Services after 5 April 1917, has been wounded or killed, or who has died or may hereafter die after being wounded;

 

Due to the nature of this award, it is currently not authorized nor awarded by the 101st Airborne Division Realism Unit.


 

The Defense Meritorious Service Medal is awarded to any member of the 101st Airborne Division Realism Unit who provides a great service or contribution to the betterment unit, whether it be an extraordinary level of recruiting, or compilation of training courses, etc. that go above and beyond what the Paratrooper's prescriped duties include. Also, the donation of one hundred dollars or more to the unit will be just cause for an awarding of this medal.




The Meritorious Service Medal is awarded to members of the 101st Airborne Division Realism Unit who distinguished themselves by outstanding non-combat meritorious achievement of great service to the 101st Airborne Division Realism Unit, not meriting a Soldier's Medal.



 

The Air Medal is awarded to any member who, while serving in any capacity in or with the 101st Airborne Division, shall have distinguished himself/herself by meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight. Awards may be made to recognize single acts of merit or heroism, or for meritorious service.

 

 

The Joint Service Commendation shall be awarded only to members of the 101st Airborne Division who exhibit selfless-ness and dedication to the unit by contributing or providing a great service to the 101st Airborne Division below the level warranting a Defense Meritorious Service Medal.

 

 

The Army Commendation Medal shall be awarded to members of the 101st Airborne Division who have distinguished themselves by extraodinary meritorious achievement or service below the level warranting a Meritorious Service Medal.

 

 

The Joint Service Achievement Medal shall be awarded to members of the 101st Airborne Division who have demonstrated extraordinary proficiency and effectiveness in their assigned duties, to include Secondary MOS responsibilities.




The Army Achievement Medal shall be awarded to Paratroopers who demonstrate achievement and proficiency in any assigned special task or project, to include Honor Graduates or exceptional instructors of 101st Airborne Division training courses.




The Good Conduct Medal shall be awarded to Paratroopers of the 101st Airborne Division Realism Unit who, without discharge or disciplinary action, maintain membership of the unit or its previous forms for six (6) months. Repeat awards are authorized for each subsequent six months.

 



The National Defense Service Medal shall be awarded to any member of the 101st Airborne Division who is enstated on full active-duty service within the unit for any period of time.

 



The Global War on Terrorism Medal (Expeditionary) shall be awarded to any personnel who have directly participated in a competition or major combat simulation exercise in a combat or combat support role.

 



The Global War on Terrorism Medal for Service shall be awarded to any personnel who have contributed to either a competition, or major combat simulation outside the designated Area of Operations, to include technical support, etc.

 



The Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal shall be awarded to any member who distinguishes themselves by contributing extraordinary amounts of their time for the betterment of the unit to complete a task, assist in trainings, or any similar situation. Furthermore, any donation of twenty-five dollars to the unit warrants the awarding of the Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.

 



The Non-Commissioned Officer Development Ribbon shall be awarded to any graduate of the Warrior Leader's Course in the 101st Airborne Division Realism Unit. Graduation of BNCOC, ANCOC, First Sergeant Course or Sergeant Major Academy will warrant a 1, 2, 3, or 4 device, respectively.

 



The Army Service Ribbon is awarded to members of the 101st Airborne Division Realism Unit for successful completion of initial-entry training.

 



The Overseas Service Ribbon shall be awarded to members of the 101st Airborne Division Realism Unit for participation in any training exercise that is a simulation of an overseas combat zone.
